A Mono Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses absorbable threads to redefine and restore lost elasticity and volume in the face for a youthful appearance. It is less invasive than traditional facelift surgery – it is more convenient, involves less risk and is less expensive.

Mono Threads induces production of collagen. creating a tightening effect for 6 to 12 months after your procedure. The threads become a support structure for your face allowing natural collagen production to take place.

Local anaesthetic is applied to the area being treated, then the thread is placed under the skin. This is done usually through a small incision or with a fine needle. Depending on which area of the body you are having treated the time will vary. For small areas such as the bikini area and underarms typically takes 5 minutes, whereas full legs can take anywhere between 45 minutes to one hour.  Only the hair that is in the Anagen phase (the growing phase of a hair follicle) can be targeted and since everyone’s hair growth cycle is different multiple sessions are required to achieve desired results. Generally, we recommend a minimum of 6 sessions depending on individual, you may need more than 6 sessions.

Again, each and every one of us has a unique hair re-growth pattern and depending on which area of the body you are having treated will determine how long you must wait between treatments. For example areas such as the upper lip should be done every 2 weeks initially and areas on the body such as the bikini, underarms or legs are usually done every 4 to 6 weeks. It is important to avoid excess exposure to sunlight before your treatment. You should also let your therapist know if you have experienced resent sun burn or tan (real or fake), or if you are taking any medication before your treatment. Please make sure you shave the area you are having treated prior to your appointment so that the treatment is as effective as possible. Shaving is not included as part of the treatment and we do not provide shaving equipment in the clinics.

The number of recommended treatments depends on the skin condition. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) was first used in military applications before being extended to medicine for non-surgical prostate cancer destruction. After extensive research into its benefits HIFU is now used in the cosmetic industry to blast and destroy fat cells. Radiofrequency:

Each brand names each thickness of filler definitely so think of the name as a way to recognize the different product easily.

Dermal fillers should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. Dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women, individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure. During your pre-treatment consultation, you should thoroughly discuss your medical history with your treating nurse or doctor.

The amount of dermal filler required will vary, based on the area to be treated, the depth of the wrinkle and the desired results. Shallow facial lines will require less solution, while hollow cheeks and deep forehead creases may need significantly more to achieve desired results. diet is key to maintaining your results.

Anti-wrinkle injections start to work 2-3 days after the injection and reach their full effect within 7-14 days. The effects can typically last for up to 3-4 months depending on the individual.

Ice packs or cool packs can be held on the area immediately before the injection, and immediately afterwards, to ease any discomfort – you’ll be surprised how much this helps!

The skill of your Cosmetic injector for dermal fillers and for cosmetic anti-wrinkle injections or lip plumping injections can make ALL the difference in how much pain you feel during the injections. You may experince some mild side effects of:

There is minimal downtime with this procedure, and many clients feel comfortable getting treatments done in their lunch break. Recovery time is minimal .

Recovery time is minimal and the results are immediate.

It depends what you get done, time can range anywhere from 15 minutes to and hour.

* Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
* Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
* Schedule your Dermal Filler and anti wrinkle appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from the Dermal Filler and anti wrinkle injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
* Discontinue active skincare 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
* Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area.
* If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know, they may put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
* Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
* You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

* Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Unless instructed by the provider.
* Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
* Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.
* Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
* If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
* Use Tylenol for discomfort.
* Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.
* Take Arnica to help the bruising and swelling, start at least 2 days prior to injections.

Other than some redness and swelling, there is minimal downtime with this procedure, and many clients feel comfortable getting treatments done in their lunch break. Recovery time is minimal and the results are immediate.   As with any injection there is a very slight and unlikely risk of post treatment infection, however you will be given specific aftercare instructions to follow to ensure your recovery at home goes smoothly.

• Puffy areas under the eyes known as eye bags

• Crinkles at the sides of the eyes – these are referred to as crow’s feet
• Glabella, which are creases between the eyebrows – these are referred to as frown lines

• Lines on the bridge of the nose, usually caused by squinting are referred to as bunny crunches
• Downturned corners of the mouth known as mouth frown lines
• Upper lip lines – these are referred to as smoker’s lips
• Excessive upper gum when smiling – these are referred to as gummy smiles
• Pulling down of lower lip when smiling which are known as canine smiles
• Flared nostrils – unusually large and open nostrils
• Saggy jawline caused by aging skin and slack facial muscles underneath the jaw
• Neck and horizontal creases around neck known as neck bands
• Hyperhidrosis which results in excessively sweaty underarms, hands and feet
• Jaw/chin

Nirvana Beauty Laser Clinics recommend 1 treatment every 6 to 24 months depending on your skin type and requirements. Consistency is the key so getting regular ongoing treatments will successfully maintain your new youthful appearance.

Fillers are generally considered safe. However side effects may happen and hence a practicing dermatologist need to be aware of such side effects, contraindicatons and precaution to be adopted while using fillers.

*Chronic pain: we are increasingly witnessing patients with chronic pain in the distribution of the infraorbital and zygomaticofacial nerve territories from injections in the region of the tear trough, a common site for injection. Whilst at present the exact mechanism for such pain is not understood, the use of permanent rather than temporary fillers may be more difficult to resolve.

* Early onset complications: include non-inflammatory nodules, and are usually localised accumulations of filler, especially seen with bovine or human collagen or HA derivatives. Treatment of these is generally conservative with gentle massage and, if persistent, the use of hyaluronidase. Stab incisions into the nodules can be considered. Whilst over-augmentation with HA fillers can be reduced with the use of hyaluronidase, this is not a possible treatment for patients treated with permanent filler nodules.

* Early inflammatory nodules: are red, painful and tender. These should be treated as infections and empirically treated with macrolides or tetracycline, pending culture and sensitivity. Fluctuance or impending skin erosion requires incision and drainage. Antibiotic treatment should be continued for at least four to six weeks. If inflammation continues, the judicious use of intralesional corticosteroids can be considered.

* Delayed onset complications: include persistent erythema and telangiectasia and may require treatment with 532 nm or 1064 nm lasers. Other delayed onset complications include inflammatory nodules, granulomas and sterile abscesses. These represent a heightened peri-implant cellular activity. Treatment should commence with macrolides or tetracycline antibiotics for four to six weeks. If there is no response within one to two weeks, intralesional corticosteroids can be considered. If there is no further improvement, tissue biopsy for culture may be required and guided antibiotic treatment accordingly

* Granulomas: all dermal fillers can produce late granulomas and abscesses. We have seen granulomas occurring in patients with both permanent and temporary fillers even up to ten years post injection..

The fundamental principle is similar to using a magnifying glass to focus sunlight, generating a burning heat. Focused ultrasound uses an acoustic lens to concentrate multiple intersecting beams of ultrasound precisely on a target point deep in the skin. Each individual beam passes through tissue with no effect (just like a normal Ultrasound scan); but at the focal point, where the beams converge, the combined energy has a precise localised thermal (heating) effect.

A good candidate for HIFU is someone with skin that has “relaxed” to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. Typically, those in their late thirties and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates.

The length of your treatment depends on what you are having treated. A full face treatment and neck takes up to 1 hour and a partial face or eye lift treatment can take around 30 minutes. Body treatments will sit somewhere within that range.

With HIFU treatment there is NO downtime. After your treatment, you can resume your normal activities immediately and there are no special measures that you have to take. It is even possible to have your treatment during your lunchbreak.

Immediately after your HIFU treatment you may see an initial effect but the ultimate results will take place over the next 2-3 months…and continue getting better for the next 6 months! During this time your body is naturally regenerating collagen and muscles are firming. As it is your own collagen that is being generated, the length of time the results last really depends on your own body’s healing response. The treatment produces new collagen and muscle firmness beneath the skin but your own natural aging process will then dictate how long that translates into visible results on the surface.

During the treatment, HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. This jumpstarts a process known as neocollagenesis which produces fresh, new collagen naturally. HIFU treatments don’t involve any creams, fillers or toxins. It is your body’s own collagen-building process that is activated and creates the natural and noticeable results.

While the ultrasound energy is being delivered you will feel tiny amounts of “energy” being deposited to precise depths of the skin. This is a positive and temporary signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort thresholds vary from person to person but the sensations only last while the treatment is being delivered. Your dermal therapist will aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Patients typically leave feeling relaxed and excited about the benefits to come.

Generally only one treatment is needed every 6 months to 2 years depending on the client’s age and degree of skin laxity, biological response to ultrasound energy and their individual collagen-building process. Some clients may benefit from additional treatments and future touch-up treatments can help clients keep pace with their body’s natural aging process.

It is possible for the skin to appear flushed at first. This can happen during treatment but it sometimes lasts longer. If there is any redness, it should disappear within a few hours.
