As we age, combination of genetic, lifestyle, dietary and environmental factors contribute to our skin ageing.
How your skin ages will depend on a variety of factors: your lifestyle, diet, heredity, and other personal habits.
There are three types of skin ageing β the first being intrinsic ageing, which is known as the natural ageing process that begins in our mid- twenties. This is where our collagen production begins to slow down and slows our elastin thus reducing our skinβs ability to snap back into place. With less fat in the skin, it starts to sag and look more aged, wrinkled and fragile. Our sebaceous glands are producing less oil and elastin which then gives us our wrinkles.
